In general, publishers make books in a few standard sizes. Small paperbacks, also called pocket books, are usually just a bit less than 7 inches. Trade size paperbacks, the larger paperbacks you see, are around 9 inches in length. Hardback size is usually made between 8-11 inches. Bibles may be longer or shorter. If you're still in doubt, use a tape measure to measure the page length from top to bottom.
