The smaller pocket paperback size (the type sold at various department and grocery stores) is designed to fit smaller paperbacks from 6.5 inches to 9.5 inches. If you read more regular size hardback books I would choose the larger size. If you read more of the smaller pocket paperback books, I would choose the smaller size. Of course there is overlap in the sizes, making them very versatile for many size books.
